We use a modem to connect to the internet. This modem assigns an IP address to each device connected to it (such as a computer, printer, media player, TV, etc.). For example, when 3 computers are connected to the same modem, the modem usually assigns IP addresses to these computers, which are separated by the last number, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4.
