How can I configure IP if the Internet connection has broken?

The reason for the disconnection of the internet is usually due to “IP conflict”. We use a modem to connect to the internet. This modem assigns an IP address to each device connected to it (such as a computer, printer, media player, TV, etc.). For example, when 3 computers are connected to the same modem, the modem usually assigns IP addresses to these computers, which are separated by the last number, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4. If you configure your computer to receive a static IP, these IP operations are done automatically. The modem assigns an IP from the specified IP pool to the devices connected, respectively.

Sometimes, the same IP address can be assigned to 2 separate devices during this IP assignment. In other words, The X computer on the network is assigned to the Y computer, for example 192.168.1.2. That’s usually the cause of the problem. You must ensure that your computer without an internet connection receives a new IP address. 2 you can solve this problem separately.

  • The first way is by following the steps below in order to receive a new IP address as the new address, you can configure:
  • Type CMD at the Start menu search line and press Enter
  • Type ipconfig / release at the command prompt and press Enter.)
  • When the process is complete, enter the ipconfig / renew command this time and press enter (this process will allow your computer to receive a new IP address from the modem) )
  • You can solve your problem by assigning static IP as the second way:
  • Click the network icon in the notification area, and then click the open network and Sharing Center Link from the pop-up menu.
  • In the window that opens, find and click the network you are currently connected to.
  • Click the “properties” button in the newly opened window
  • Select” Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) “and say” properties”. (or double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) connection)
  • make sure the “automatically get an IP address” option is selected on the page that opens.Leave these windows intact
  • Type CMD at the Start menu search line and press Enter
  • At the command prompt, type ipconfig / all, and then press Enter.
  • If your computer is connected to the modem by cable, find the “Ethernet adapter local area connection” if it is connected wirelessly “wireless LAN Adapter Wireless area connection” and browse to the information under: IPv4 address : 192.168.1.2, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, default gateway: 192.168.1.1
  • Now go back to the open windows above and select “use the following IP address” first. Then type the IP address you want to assign to the “IP address” section. Check the “Verify settings when exiting” box and then close all windows by clicking Ok, ok,close.
  • From now on, your computer will connect to the internet via the IP address you assigned.
